Single Serving: T-Pain and Lil' Wayne - "Can't Believe It"

It's taken me a little while to come around, but I gotta say it. T-Pain is just adorable. He's got those hats, the robot voice, it's good clean family fun. And, now "Can't Believe It." He's the biggest R&B artist in the world and he still can't believe that a stripper wants to get all on him. So cute.
The track is really a stripper's anthem for the new millenium. The vocoder is in full effect and the beat is spare and space-aged. It also has a melancholy feel to it. Because we all know that a strip club is, at its heart, a very sad place. That's where T-Pain is coming from. Above all, it's a message of compassion. Though he kept stop going, what he really wants is to get these ladies out the damn strip club. He knows he can get whatever he wants in the champagne room, but he's not here for that.
Wayne though? Not so much. He just wants to talk about his face tattoos and have sex in public. But that's cool. That's just Weezy being Weezy.

And whoever showed Wayne how to use the vocoder really has to be hitting himself right now. He's just showing no restraint for the technology and somebody's gonna get hurt.
But, really, Pain's interest in geography is what hits home for me. Name-checking Costa Rica, Toronto, Aspen and even Wiscansin

will always get you some bonus points in my book.
Keep reaching for the stars, T-Pain. You'll get there one day. I'm sure of it.
